What MTB Unsung Heroes: Killer Focus Review

Thursday, March 29th, 2007

It’s that time again, the May issue of What MTB just landed on my desk and it’s got some great Focus stuff in there. There’s a bit of chatter about the hugely popular National Demo Series where people have been rushing to for a bash on the Focus MTBs and also an awesome review of the Focus Killer Bee LTD. They looked at 4 ‘Unsung Heroes’ - bikes between £650-£850 that can handle plenty of punishment on the weekend trails and hopefully be up to a little competitive XC racing.

The Focus Killer Bee LTD romped to best on test ahead of a good mixture of ‘bread & butter’ hardtails. The spec stands out for itself with RockShox Reba SL’s, Avid Juicy brakes and a mainly XT drivetrain, not to mention it coming in on the scales at an super-low 25.7lbs. Even though this bike was the most expensive on test it still scored 10/10 for value and a WhatMTB Gold shield winning 9/10 overall. Not only is this the perfect bike for speeding round the local trails on, it’s also well equipped to handle the odd competitive event.

“There’s no two ways about it, the Killer Bee Ltd is a very rapid bike indeed”

“A superb XC bike that’s equally at home on technical trails and long rides.

Save 17.5% when you buy a bike?

Tuesday, March 13th, 2007

That’s what the nations cyclists are trying to do by getting the government to drop the VAT you pay when you buy a bike or any accessories. Not a bad idea eh? We all save money when we buy our gear and hopefully it will persuade more people to ditch the 4 wheels and get cycling a bit more.

So how can you help? A petition has been set up, all you need to do is add your bit and pass it on;

Can’t hurt can it!
