Notice how far away the car traffic is from the cyclist? This is common in Scandinavia.
I was driving through Denmark last year and saw a whole class with their teachers cycling along. They were not wearing any kind of sports kit, so I guess they were using their bikes as transportation. Completely different culture.
Schools here in Sweden have packed bike racks all year round. I think we need to make it safer for kids in the UK to cycle about before any real change will occur.
