All information is on the Wayfarer Cycle Club Website.
See you there!
The last few weeks in work have been pretty tough, mainly due to the horrible weather we have had recently. Whilst most cyclists would choose to stay in during a storm, perhaps to go on the turbo instead I have no choice but to ride.
Its one of the worst things about the job; not being able to choose where or when to ride, its also pretty dangerous riding when the wind is blowing 50mph, its raining hard and freezing cold. You have to look beyond your frozen hands and feet and think of the summer, when you are riding your bike in the sun and the envy of everyone sat at a desk.
I guess having no choice but to ride can also be good mental training. When I turn up at a race and it’s raining or cold, I will know that I’ve ridden in much worse conditions and felt much colder which is a nice mental booster.
On the flip side Spring is defiantly on its way, I’m now able to finish a day without the need for lights and I’ve put the ¾ tights on for the first day since November!

Alot has happened since I last wrote. I’m now training in Stellenbosch in South Africa. I came here on the 20th January and am staying until the 18th March to get some hard training done, in good weather with some great training partners. Dann Brook, Fraser Cartmell and Tim Don are all out here and we are all pushing each other.
I’ve also raced since I’ve been here - in the South African triathlon championships (two weeks ago) and things didnt exactly go as planned……. I had a poor swim and even worse bike and a pretty average run! But I’m not too disapionted by this as I was tired from training, and just had a bit of a “off day”. It has motivated me to train even harder and I am pleased with the way things are going. I’m sure this will a good season for me and it’s good to get a bad race out the way. I also hope to race the World Cup in South Korea in mid April so ‘ill keep you up to date with my goings on leading up to it.

The good news is we have TWO bank holidays on their way as Easter is this Sunday so the wiggle crew will be hitting the roads and trails! Unfortunately though it means the posties are also taking a break so there will be limited collection and deliveries over the Easter period.
Thursday - Delivery and collections from wiggle as normal
Good Friday – No collections from wiggle or deliveries to customers
Saturday – No collections from wiggle - Royal Mail deliveries only
Easter Monday – No collections from wiggle or deliveries
Tuesday – Back to normal although there will be back-log as orders from Thursday onwards may still be in the sack for delivery.
If you would like your order delivered for the weekend we recommend placing your order by Wednesday 2pm at the latest and use our Priority Despatch service.
Our first satellite site, www.wigglegill.com is continuing to impress and is getting busier and busier every day! If you are planning on heading out into the water this bank holiday weekend there is still time to get some fresh new sailing gear delivered. As WiggleGill.com uses the same backend as wiggle.co.uk you will get the same speedy service with our same day priority despatch and the best bit of all - you can use your wiggle Gold and Platinum discount across WiggleGill too!
We’ve sent some of the wiggle crew over to the three day Taipei International Cycle Show in Taiwan and they have sent over some photos of their first day. These are the main bikes causing a stir at the moment, more photos in the next couple of days.
