Just swap to only one car trip between 29 June – 4 July 2009 and walk, cycle, take public transport or car-share. The 29th to the 4th June is the week to join in with thousands of other like minded individuals and Change Your World!
Its surprising how much of a difference a small action like this will make, by changing how you choose to make your journey by walking, cycling, or using public transport or even car sharing it’s possible to reduce car traffic by 10% – This can only be a good thing and in return you stand to benefit form healthier journeys, cleaner air and quieter streets.
Change Your World is brought to you by Sustrans, the charity behind the award-winning National Cycle Network, TravelSmart, Bike It, Safe Routes to Schools, Connect2 and all those other great initiatives helping people like you to walk, cycle or take public transport more.

Hybrid bikes such as the Focus Corrente 09 are bicycles designed for general-purpose utility or commuter cycling on paved and unpaved roads, paths, and trails. Also known under such names as City bike or Commuter bike, the hybrid takes design features from both a road and mountain bike, with the goal of making a robust bike for general commuting and transportation. In general, hybrids use the mountain bike’s triple chainset together with the mtb bars giving a more upright position than found on a road bike, making them great for city and leisure use. They also use a 700C wheel diameter for higher speeds, but use a wider rim and tyre for increased strength when used on canal paths or for light trail use, other items used from mtb’s are the brakes, with disc or v-brake being chosen.
Road racing bikes such as the Focus Variado Compact 09 are available for various purposes, they can be used for road racing, touring, leisure or commuting. Racing bikes are lighter, faster and more responsive than equivalently priced mountain bikes. Road bikes have come a long way in recent years with new technology and materials available. Carbon fibre, aluminium and titanium are all used now as well as the more traditional steel tube sets. They all have their advantages: aluminium offers good performance at a reasonable price
Audax Bikes like the Focus Crater Lake 09 stem from the most famous Audax bike ride which is the Paris Brest Paris 1200 km. But you don’t have to attempt to a ride that long to enjoy the benefits that this style of bike can bring. Audax bikes normally have a slightly relaxed geometry which make them suitable for either light touring, sportives or leisure road riding. Most Audax bikes have the capacity to mount a rear pannier rack, and some also boast front rack fittings.
