Introducing Team Wiggle Tandem.

This Hi-Tech duo aim to rewrite cycling’s record books!

Breaking records takes 100% dedication, total commitment from not just athletes but from an entire team.

Breaking records is about getting everything right, inch perfect, utterly focused; from the smallest bike adjustment to the meticulous planning of each mile of tarmac.

Team Wiggle Tandem has drawn together one of the finest British teams ever assembled, in a 2 year program to bring back the glory and the excitement to a very British tradition of road record breaking.

World Champions, World Record holders, professionals and amateurs from all over the world have attacked the great road records of the UK. In 2010 Team Wiggle Tandem will be using all the latest technology in their attempt to set fastest times for at least three of these historic records.

Who are Team Wiggle Tandem?

David Michael Harmon – Biography

David Harmon is the UK’s leading television commentator for professional cycle racing. His clients include Eurosport, Sky Sports and ESPN Star TV. Firmly established as anchor commentator on the UCI ProTour, Vuelta a Espana and the Tour de France he nevertheless still runs Spokesmen Ltd, developing and making sporting programmes for the international market and the Spokemen Agency, representing the interests of sportsmen and women.

After finishing his career as a Elite Mountain Bike racer in the early 1990’s David joined the BBC working variously for BBC South and East, Timewatch and the Obituaries unit before joining the sports desk at Channel One TV where he went on to produce and present the high successful motoring magazine series ‘Torque Show’.

Nominated for a RTS award in 1994 and the subject of that years Society keynote address, highlighting is highly innovative production techniques ‘Torque Show’ led to programmes with Sky Sports, CSS Stella and ESPN.

It was whilst working as a commentator for TWI that David was invited back into the professional cycling world to work on the Vuelta a Espana, in 2002.

David has established himself at the very heart of professional cycling, forging strong links with the peloton, the media, representing individual current and former riders and as a television broadcaster across the English speaking world.

He lives in Shropshire with his partner and their young son.

Jeremy Hastings – Biography

Jeremy has been a cyclist for longer than he cares to remember!

He started off racing and touring and doing all things cycling from the late seventies.
Jeremy got involved with racing trikes early on and big touring too as well as bike touring/guiding in Europe and Africa.

Always with the ‘less is more’ ethos he has been carving his way as a wilderness guide on foot or via two wheels. Jeremy is Britain’s only 5 star wildlife guide and is a cycle coach along with running a junior club on Islay, a wee Scottish Island way out west!

Jeremy has raced cyclocross, in Belgium, France and the UK. Along with completing the Paris Brest Paris on fixed wheel, Windsor Chester Windsor on a trike, Brevet Cymru, Brevet Randonee des Alpes, Raid Pyrenean and several longer German events too. Jeremy was a member of the National 100km Trike Team and more recently completed the London to Paris on a fixed wheel with his tandem partner David Harmon.

    Hi Dave
    Looks like you’ve had a fabulous career and been generating a few ripples on the various airwaves since Torque Show Days! Don’t know why, I just suddenly found myself looking up the old team and seeing what everyone has been upto. The only things that’ve really made it down New Zealand way are Russ’s hobknobbing with traveling celebrities!
    Great to see you’re heading out on the wheels still, knew you couldn’t stand to be out of lycra or leather for too long. All the best for your record attempts.
