About me:
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been a sporting person. Throughout my schooling, I played squash, cricket and hockey. I’ve always loved riding bikes, but I bought myself a mountain bike when I was 16, and I’ve been riding the rough stuff ever since. It wasn’t until 2005 though, that I started racing, and back then I concentrated mainly on XC, short course races, and the shorter endurance races.
In March 2006 I had the opportunity to move from Llandovery to Cardiff and began working as a cycle courier. This is something that has changed my life completely; riding an average of 100 miles a day for four days a week does wonders for the endurance, and as a direct consequence I started doing well at the longer events. 2006 saw me entering my first 24 hour solo and I loved it; so much so that I entered another just two months later, and this saw me get to the podium! My consistency throughout 2007 led to it being a really great year, topped off with winning Dusk till Dawn solo 12 hour.
In April 2008 I decided to finish work in Cardiff and move back to Llandovery where I am from originally. It is a move that is really starting to pay off as I have improved my speed, climbing and general fitness through a structured and well balanced training regime.
Outside of cycling I have a love of most motor sport and enjoy driving. I live with my girlfriend Nia, who is also my pit support for my solo races and our two naughty cats, Sooty and Sweep.
